Our guest speaker is from the Dacorum Borough Council small grants giving department and will explain to us how DBC are very keen that local community groups apply for funding, what sort of activities they are keen to support and how to complete the application form.

Orchards East Display

A Tring's Own Apple Fayre Event
Orchards East is an exciting new project aimed at surveying and recording traditional orchards across the east of England. Working with a range of partner organisations and hundreds of new volunteers, the project team will survey and record traditional orchards across the east of England, and research the history of fruit growing in the region. Have a look at this fascinating display and find out how you could get involved.

Eco Fair

A Tring's Own Apple Fayre Event

Local projects and businesses are already making Tring more sustainable. Hear about working with planners, Tring’s community garden, therapeutic horticulture, running a cut flower business and Tring's playing out scheme for children.
Restauranteur Andrei Lussmann, Tringmotion cycle store, permaculture practitioner Nigel Crawley and Dunstable Incredible Edible complete the line-up of speakers. Applelation Trail

Comfort me with Apples Harvest Service

A Tring's Own Apple Fayre event.
Apples, orchards and the farming that produces our food provide a powerful spiritual dimension to our communities and countryside. Everyone is welcome to this Harvest Festival Service that this year is being led by Bishop Wood School. It will be a family friendly service, with a warm welcome for children. Listen to a special ‘Apple Peel’ of bells, help create a tapestry of apples and enjoy seasonal refreshments to celebrate our local harvest.

Scrumptious Apple Day

Enjoy a fun family day out at this historic venue. There will be a wide variety of apples for sale from Cam Valley Orchards, a range of Farmers‘ Market stalls, apple pressing, traditional crafts, medieval displays, livestock, games and appley refreshments. Special edition of our Tring Farmers‘ Market, Church Square
Support your locally generated produce with a special fruity flavour. Activities on the day include local school ‘scarecrows’ judging, Morris dancing, apple pressing - bring your own apples and a bottle for juicing -, local crafts, a plague of Tring’s own frogs and your favourite Tring Farmer‘s Market stalls.

10.30am - 11am Magnolia Apple Cart Procession
See the Apple cart procession with dancers, hop-bearing and school scarecrows with a difference! Celebrate Tring’s ancient market and farming traditions. Leaves the King‘s Arms at 10.30am to process along High St to St Peter and St Paul Church.

Flour Power

Barn Dance

Dance your socks off at this fun Harvest Barn Dance evening presented by The Friends of Tring Church Heritage featuring the one and only ‘Pickled Tink‘. There will also be a big price raffle and fun & laughter galore are guaranteed. Tickets are £15 and include a Ploughman‘s Platter and welcome drink. Join your local community cinema for their bobbing October screening of ‘Hidden Figures’ (America, 2016); a biographical drama film directed by Theodore Melfi, about African American female mathematicians who worked at the NASA during the Space Race.

Bake one of Trish‘s apple based recipes and see if you’ll be crowned Tring Apple Fayre Champion Baker! All ages are welcome to participate. The categories child, teen and adult are to be judged by foodie Tring celebrities on the day. Entry is free but you need to register by emailing Trish

Plus for a few coins purchase Tring's Own Apple Recipe Book with original recipes from our favourite destinations such as Beechwood Fine Foods & Puddingstone Distillery, also including contributions from local schools and community groups. On your marks, get set, bake!
