Examples of What We Do

Tring Together secured £18,000 of grant funding to support Tring Youth Council's Multisport Play Area in Miswell Lane

We submitted a successful application to the Quality of Place Programme, a regional grant scheme operated by the East of England Development Agency and Action for Market Towns, which is only available to community partnerships such as Tring Together. The grant programme has a remit of enhancing market towns as quality places to live, work and socialise.

We were also successful in a bid for funding from the same scheme, to produce a fabulous glossy guide to Tring called Tring Days Out

This beautifully presented, 46-page book is the essential guide for those wanting to get more out of living or visiting Tring; it also features many stunning photographs of Tring and surrounding countryside. Various chapters explore the wealth of leisure options in the area and suggest routes to explore them in either a leisurely or energetic manner.

Six of the chapters are supported by special itineraries ('Historic Tring', 'Tring Park', 'Chiltern Rambling', 'Tring by Water', 'Two-Wheel Tring', 'The Grand Tour') which include narrative and a detailed map, and which are contained on individual sheets inside the back cover wallet.

We would like to thank Tring Town Council and Dacorum Borough Council for their additional sponsorship of this project.

Design a Light for Christmas

Since 2007 we have organised this annual competition for local primary schools and are very grateful to Tring Town Council, Tring & Villages Extended Schools Consortium and Tring Tomorrow for sponsoring it. Each year, pupils in Class 6 at local primary schools are asked to create a drawing that can be turned into a Christmas light. The theme each year is "The Magic of Christmas" and the two best drawings are selected from all entries. These winning designs are made into enormous light decorations and put up as a part of Tring High Street's Christmas light display. The two winners are then invited onto the stage at Tring's Christmas Festival where they switch on their lights to officially open the event!

Tring Together has been organising this much loved event for a number of years now. It falls on the last Friday in November every year and draws crowds of 10,000+ people. The event 'kicks off' the festive season in Tring and aims to support local businesses and shops, who stay open late on the night, provide a great night's entertainment for all who visit and are involved, and provides an opportunity for local charities and community groups to raise funds. Any proceeds that Tring Together makes from organising the event go straight towards other community projects.

Tring Spring FayreTring Spring Fayre

Tring Spring Fayre For the first time this year Tring enjoyed a Tring Spring Fayre! This new event was all about "Celebrating Tring in Spring" and Tring Together coordinated a two week programme of activities and events that encouraged people to get active and make the most of living in and around Tring! Activities included spring animals on Church Square, offers in many shops, restaurants and cafes throughout the High Street, a 'Walk for Wellness' walking/cycling event which utilised the Tring Days Out book and provided people with an opportunity to get active, explore Tring and benefit a local charity. Other Fayre highlights included guided historic walks around Ting Town Centre, a butterfly and wildflower walk through Tring Park, a Badger Watch and an Open Morning at Tring Park Mansion . The FoTCH Family Fun Day at St Peter & St Paul Church and Tring Farmers Market 10th Anniversary celebrations also took place during the Fayre.

Tring Together's Flower Troughs

Tring Together's flower troughsTring Together's flower troughs, which are located at both ends of the High Street, have been providing a vibrant entrance into Tring town centre for several seasons now. These are planted up by volunteers and sponsored by local businesses. We would also like to thank Colin Jones, Town Warden, for his continued assistance.
