About Tring Together

Tring Together is a community partnership made up of a broad range of individuals, including representatives from various organisations within the community, who are working together to initiate, carry out and encourage community based projects aimed at improving and regenerating Tring and its surrounding villages.

The partnership was formed in 2003, as a result of successfully receiving funding from the Countryside Agency for a Market Town Healthcheck. The 'Healthcheck' was a review and audit of Tring, which included consultation with local people, to identify key issues and actions needed to improve the town.

Using the findings from the 'Healthcheck', Tring Together has coordinated a Community Action Plan through which it has identified, and is now working on, a variety of new and exciting projects for improvement within Tring.

"A Day Out In and Around Tring"

A 48-page guide, plus a series of maps/itineraries

Tring Together has successfully applied to The Quality Of Place Programme, a regional grant scheme operated by the East of England Development Agency and Action for Market Towns.

The grant along with sponsorship from Tring Town Council, Dacorum Borough Council, Tring Together, and advertising revenue, will be used to produce a 48-page booklet provisionally titled "A Day Out In And Around Tring".

The booklet will promote Tring and the surrounding area as a welcoming and enjoyable visitor experience. The guide as well as introducing Tring through writing and photography will also include a series of maps/itineraries each promoting a suggested day out with a route and/or theme. (e.g. 'Natural Tring', 'Historical Tring', 'Walking around Tring', 'Tring by the water' etc.)

Local contributors are busily collecting and producing information for this exciting project. The booklet is expected to go on sale early July 2008.
